Editor-in-Chief

Mark Bluemle is not new to the world of the magazine. After founding a publication in New York in 2022, he saw himself doing the same in Pittsburgh. Thus, DEJA MAGAZINE was born! Mark loves to produce, direct, photograph, and edit stories that engage conversation and inspire others to create. You can find Mark hunched over on his laptop doing work in the corner of his room or djing as his iconic alter ego, Disconap.

Jack Bender

Jack Bender

Lead Prop Engineer, Talent Wrangler

Jack Bender is a chemical engineering student and Deja’s prop engineer, but he sees himself as more than that. He’s a scene kid through and through, crawling through basements and bars to follow his favorite bands. He’s a builder, helping all sorts of projects come to life. Most importantly, he’s a friend who loves spending time with the incredible people he’s met from Deja and elsewhere. A real Jack of all trades, master of some.

Alex Fumero

Alex Fumero

Talent Wrangler

Alex is currently a third year physics major at Duquesne University. When she’s not haunting the second floor of the sciences building or teaching a lab full of students, you can find her in various basements and venues throughout the city listening to bands of all creeds and colors. Work-life balance is important, and when she spends a whole day doing differential equations, it’s essential to get those creative juices flowing, which she finds through DEJA. Or the mosh.

Michael Frank

Michael Frank

Webmaster

Michael Frank is a musician and software engineer from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. To him, writing code is another form of art. Designing complex systems, implementing them, fixing glitches, and making incremental improvements - it's all self-expression. Michael designs, builds, and maintains dejamag.com. Under the hood is a custom content management system that connects the print-based magazine to its readers. If he's not hunched over a keyboard (either at his day job or at home), you can find him practicing bass guitar. You may have heard him performing in the Pittsburgh area with his band Funky Lamp. If you're his downstairs neighbor, you've probably heard him anyway.
